The role in short

We are looking for an enthusiastic and capable category manager to manage the sourcing and merchandising of a growing category of products. This varied role will enable you to use all of your negotiation, analytical and commercial skills to positively impact business performance.

Onto the nitty gritty!

  • Ensure that profit margin expectations are achieved, whilst ensuring Plumbworld remain competitive
  • Develop and enhance relationships with suppliers and ensure they understand and meet our service requirements
  • To ensure that all necessary administrative procedures are carried out and maintenance of the price file, product data file etc. are continually up dated
  • Regularly undertake Product and Supplier range reviews and take appropriate steps to ensure ranges are maximising sales and revenue
  • Collect and analyse all data which measure product performance and take action that ensure maximisation of profit and sales
  • Be proactive and creative in suggesting and influencing trading, marketing and commercial initiatives to ensure product performance is continually enhanced
  • Continually review Manufacturers Damages to ensure we are not financially disadvantaged
  • Undertake projects with a view to enhancing product performance
  • Develop and deliver own brand sourcing projects
  • Review market analysis to ensure maximum range performance and profitability

We’d like to meet someone with

Proficient in using Excel – ability to compile data feeds and manipulate data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Confidence to question procedures and propose improvements
Work well under pressure and to deadlines
Work well as part of team and on own initiative
Positive & flexible approach to work
High level of attention to detail
Highly organised and ability to prioritise workload
